Personal, patient care and support across Frome and the surrounding Somerset area.
I'm Jeremy — an independent, self-employed care and support provider, working through Somerset County Council's Community Micro-Enterprise Development programme. I offer flexible, one-to-one support built around what actually matters to the person I'm working with.
Somerset County Council · Community Micro-Enterprise DevelopmentOne person — not an agency. With i-care you're not passed around a rota of changing faces. It's me, the same familiar person, on every visit — which is how trust, and a real understanding of what someone needs, have the chance to grow.
01 · what I offer
What I can help with
Every arrangement looks a little different. These are the kinds of support I provide, usually in some combination, shaped around the person and the week rather than a fixed template.
Personal care
Support with washing, dressing and daily routines — including short-term help after a hospital stay or surgery.
Help in the home
Light housework, tidying and everyday household tasks, on a regular or occasional basis.
Meals and food
Meal preparation and cooking support, working with the equipment and routines already in place at home.
Getting out and about
Accompanied trips to the shops, a café, a park or other local outings — a steady arm over uneven ground, and support for wheelchair users on longer routes where that's what's needed.
Companionship visits
Time set aside simply to sit, talk and keep someone company — particularly valued on the days family or other support isn't around.
Flexible scheduling
Regular weekly slots, occasional one-off visits, or short bursts of support around a specific need — arranged to suit.
Personalised care plans
I start by getting to know the person — their days, their preferences, what matters most to them — then shape the support around that, and keep adjusting it as things change.
02 · how I work
How I work
Across every arrangement, a few things stay constant.
- Patience, always. Support moves at the pace that works for the person, not the clock.
- Reliability. If I say I'll be there, I'll be there — consistency matters more than almost anything else.
- Respect for independence. Support is there to help someone do the things they want to do, not to take over.
- An understanding of age. I'm mindful of how age can change pace, footing and stamina — and I'm glad to offer a steady arm and go at the right speed, so getting out and about stays something to look forward to.
- Clear, calm communication. Including for people who are hard of hearing, partially sighted, or find new faces take some getting used to.
- Trust, built over time. Especially where the relationship itself — not just the task — is the point.
